Yamaha FZ X Launched In India From INR 1.17 Lakh

The Yamaha FZ X has a price premium of around INR 11,000 over the regular FZ

Yamaha Motor India has launched a new-retro offering into its FZ lineup. Named the FZ X, the new bike sits above the FZ V3 and FZ S V3 in the manufacturer’s domestic portfolio. The FZ X is priced from INR 1.17 lakh, ex-showroom. This is essentially 11,000 INR more than the standard FZ’s price.

The FZ X draws inspiration from the recently launched Yamaha XSR 155 and has a round LED projector headlamp with integrated LED DRL, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, front gaiters, plastic sump guard, tyre hugger, multi-spoke 17-inch black alloy wheels with block pattern tyres, single-piece grab rail, LED tail lamps and a single-piece seat- wide and flat with a ribbed texture on it. The footpegs have a forward-set layout and the rider’s triangle seems to be quite upright and comfortable. The bike has an overall persona that is quite like that of a scrambler.

Yamaha FZ X gets a desirable digital instrument cluster, which looks much like the one on the FZ and FZ S, but better on the new bike. There is also a BlueTooth -equipped version to the FZ X, which features smartphone connectivity and a Rs 3000 premium in pricing.

Specifications

The FZ X gets the same engine and transmission from the other models of the FZ lineup. It is the same 149 cc, single-cylinder engine that does the job on this bike as well and churns out the exact 12.4 hp and 13.3 Nm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and a single-channel ABS is standard across the range.

Nothing about the chassis has changed either. The FZ-X is underpinned by the same single downtube frame as the regular FZ, and gets telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. FZ X 150, however, is a good 4 kg heavier than its naked sibling and has a 20mm taller seat height as well.
