The reduced prices of both BMW G310 R and G310 GS now make the twins much more affordable than their rivals – the KTM Duke and the KTM ADV.

BMW Motorrad has launched the new, revised and BS6-compliant versions of its entry-level bikes – the BMW G310 R and BMW G310 GS. Along with the revised styling and a host of excellent upgrades, the manufacturer has done something which is going to put an ear-to-ear grin on many prospective customers’ faces. The prices have been significantly reduced.

Gentle reminder. The G310 R street fighter used to cost INR 2.99 lakhs and the G310 GS adventure bike had a steeper tag of INR 3.49 lakh. The new prices are mouth-watering though. That’ll be INR 2.45 lakhs for the R and INR 2.85 lakhs for the GS. Shocked? Pleasantly surprised? We are as well.

BMW Motorrad is now prepared to get the sales chart on fire by taking the battle right to its competition’s doorstep. The KTM duo of the 390 Duke and the 390 ADV are the clear targets in sight and now the BMW offerings are cheaper to ride off the showroom floor than the Austrian alternatives.

The engine shared by the twins has been updated to meet both BS6 and Euro 5 emission norms. Generating 34hp of power and 28Nm of torque, the liquid-cooled, single-cylinder unit’s potential is harnessed by 6-speed transmission. Capable of clocking a top whack of 143kph, the twins can do 0-100kph in 7.17 seconds. Equipped with ride-by-wire tech, slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS, the new BMW G310 R and G310 GS will offer its riders with better throttle response, comfort, and safety. Be prepared for a more enjoyable and exhilarating riding experience once you hop on either of these bikes.

Cosmetic improvements include new graphics, updated body panel, and new multi-color paint schemes among others. Overall, the new avatars are supremely appealing to look at, thanks to the flashy styling tweaks. The all-LED lighting system too adds to the visual impact while being a significant functional upgrade. What we’d loved to see in addition to the aforementioned upgrades, was a new instrument cluster similar to the ones on the new-gen KTMs. But we have to settle for the LCD unit on the BMWs for now.

BMW Motorrad has started accepting bookings for both bikes and there are attractive finance schemes to make the deal more alluring to buyers.
