Toyota To Launch Rebadged Brezza As Urban Cruiser Soon

Toyota to continue launching rebadged Suzuki vehicles with minor visual tweaks in India

Toyota Kirloskar India is all set to bring in another rebadged vehicle from Suzuki into their line up. A sub-four meter SUV powered by a BS6 1.5 Litre SHVS petrol engine made available with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission options. This K15B four-cylinder engine has a peak power output of 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of maximum torque. Toyota has seen success with the launch of the rebadged version of Suzuki Baleno and they are on the way to do more with the same formula.

After a long wait and speculations about the new vehicle, the Japanese automaker has finally teased an image of the upcoming vehicle. “Urban Cruiser” will be the name for Vitara Brezza with the Toyota logo. This car has been a massive success for Suzuki in India and has cast shadows on market domination of Mahindra XUV 300, Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon, Hyundai venue, and Honda WR-V.

The Urban Cruiser will be a response to the upcoming KIA Sonet, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite as a result of the new partnership with Suzuki in the domestic market. Unlike the Galanza, Urban Cruiser will have more visual tweaks to make it distinguishable as a Toyota. The brand will not have many variations in the features that the donor car already hosts.

However, the management has plans to offer extended warranty and financial options to lure more customers into Toyota showrooms from the Suzuki outlets. The new offering will be available within a price range of 7 to 11 lakh rupees (Ex-showroom).
