Tata Nexon EV In High Demand In The Southern Region!

The Nexon EV has been clocking some serious sales figures in the South ever since its inception

The Nexon EV could be called the first proper EV from Tata Motors. It was the first product that the manufacturer’s dedicated EV architecture- the Ziptron had spawned. Introduced in January 2020, the Nexon EV was welcomed with much vigour pan India. Even with other players around, the Nexon EV soon found a place of its own, and was looked upon as an efficient, powerful and affordable EV offering.

Though the sales figures have been heartwarming in almost all parts of the country, Tata Motors claims the southern region to be the hottest market for their EV. As per the latest reports from the carmaker, the Nexon EV has registered as much as 300% growth in S.India alone, since its market debut. It currently claims a whopping 77% of the YTD market share in the EV space. 20 cities from Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are claimed to be the most receptive to the all-electric SUV.

The increased acceptance for the EV in these places owes its existance to the rapidly developing EV ecosystems here and the strong retailer- aftersales network that the manufacturer has here. Tata Motors currently has around 29 sales outlets and 33 authorized service points in the South zone. There are also around 67 fast-charging stations spread across these regions, with a lot more under construction. The South has a number of operational EV-ready corridors like the Hyderabad–Vijayawada, Vijayawada–Vizag, Bangalore–Mysore, Chennai–Puducherry and Cochin-Coimbatore. All these have collectively contributed to the rising sales numbers of the electric Nexon.

The Nexon EV, if you might remember, comes powered by a 30.2 kWh electric motor which churns out a good 127hp, and gets the car to three-digit speeds in under 10 seconds. The prices for the Nexon EV start at 13.99 lakh (ex. showroom) and go all the way till INR 16.40 lakh. Tata Motors has also introduced a subscription model for the EV as well.
