Maruti Suzuki Spresso sets a strong foot in the market with over 10,000 units sold in October 2019!

Maruti Suzuki Spresso records sky-high sales in October 2019. finally ranking amongst the top-selling cars of the month!

It’s not the first time we see an all-new Maruti Suzuki car among the top10 bestsellers. The tradition continues with Maruti Suzuki Spresso too, as the company announces sales of 10,634 units of the car in October 2019

Maruti Suzuki sold 10,000+ units of Spresso in the month of October 2019, upping the car to among the 10 bestselling models for the month. Ironically, the S-presso had appeared in the list in September 2019 also, despite the fact that the car was launched in the market on September 30. Maruti Suzuki had sold over 5000 units back then.

Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director(Marketing and Sales) Maruti Suzuki Limited, said, “today, Indian buyers have a clear inclination towards feature-loaded, safe, comfortable and easy-to-own entry-level cars. S-presso has been able to carve out its own niche in the entry segment. S-presso stands apart to offer unique experiences to its distinct customers in the segment. We are enthused with the response and thank our customers for their confidence in S-presso” while he spoke about the S-presso’s performance in the market.

Maruti Suzuki has always had a spiritual bond with the common folks in India right from the time of their first launch here. They know what the common man desires. Nothing but this deep know-how of the budget-conscious customer’s desires has made them dominate the small car segment. The Spresso is the carmaker’s latest budget car and people seem to love it much.

Maruti calls it a ‘mini-SUV’ but the car isn’t anything near to what we call an SUV, apart from the upright stance, relatively high ground clearance and elevated seating position. Measuring 3565mm long, 1520mm wide and 1549mm tall, the Maruti Suzuki Spresso is a tad narrow for its height.

Competing right away with the ‘SUV-inspired’ Renault Kwid, Spresso’s front end has slightly SUV-ish styling with a chunky cladding on the lower bumper, and a supposedly ‘Jeep-inspired’ toothy grille integrated well into the angular headlights. (The chrome garnish and LED daytime running lamps are paid accessories though)

You can consider the optional wheel arch and side cladding and machined out alloy wheels too, to primp up the ‘SUV look’ further. The sides and tail are plain and rather blunt. Tail lights are basic, just enough to get the job done. There’s no hiding from the chunky cladding on the rear bumper. A roof spoiler and skid plates are also on offer if you want to further spice up the car.

On the interior everything stays basic and neat. The speedometer jumped out of the traditional position behind the wheel, sits at the top of the circular centre console, which is a very ‘Mini thing’. The centre console is also home for the infotainment system. Top-end trim offers Maruti’s latest SmartPlay Studio with a 7.0inch touchscreen, and also gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
