New Mahindra Thar In The High Demand Zone, Waiting Period Crosses 10 Months.

Mahindra Thar had recently cracked the Global NCAP safety tests with an impressive 4-star rating as well

Mahindra cars have always catered to a wide variety of buyers in our country. With their new technologies, features and safety standards, Mahindra has outgrown themselves in the recent times. Mahindra and Mahindra registered a YoY sales growth of 24.4 per cent with a total sale of 18212 units in November 2020 as opposed to 14635 units in the same period last year. Their newest lifestyle-SUV, the Thar registered sales of 2569 units against just 53 units in November 2019.

The new Thar, unquestionably has become the new favorite among Indians, (you buy it or not, you never hate the Thar) and recently GNCAP awarded a 4 star crash test rating to the offroader under the #SaferCarsForIndia crash test campaign, further making the package a whole lot enticing.

The Thar reaped over 20000 bookings in the last month itself and the waiting period had then stood at four to six weeks and Mahindra is working towards proliferating the production from January 2021. Although currently 2000 units are produced a month, the demand for the offroader has risen significantly over the weeks that the waiting period too has gone up, to a freaking 10 months time for variants.

The Thar comes with two engine options- a 2.2L diesel and an all-new 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol. You can have either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic with both engines. With the AX and AX(O) variants discontinued for the time being, prices for the new Thar starts at INR 11.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
