Here’s everything you need to know about the all new Kawasaki ZX 10 R and ZX 10 RR
One can’t really go wrong with the ZX10R, It’s the most track-focused bike compared to the Japanese counterparts with the 1000CC inline-4 screaming beneath the rider. Tom Sykes and Johnathan Rea have shown us the magic and won a couple of WSB titles, won all levels of race.
In its latest avatar, ZX10R and the ZX10RR have a bunch of dashing look updates which remind of the big daddy H2, the sharp lines and aggressive design elements like the twin LED headlamps placed on both sides of the central ram intake tunnel, adds up to the monstrous look. RUN, I dare you. The cleverly integrated winglets inside the side fairings improve the downforce by 17 percent. The dashing color options on offer further add up to the looks.
The ergonomics have been improved for a more indulging riding position. Footpegs are raised by 5mm, the triple clamp has been lowered and clip-ons set 10mm forward. Just having the feeling of sitting on one? Wait, there’s more.
Kawasaki also revamped the chassis, a new 8mm longer swing arm coupled with lowered triple clamps has helped in increasing the wheelbase by 10mm. The fully-adjustable Showa Balance Free Fork and rear mono-shock include revamped internals, improving the handling.
ZX10R and ZX10RR come equipped with a screamy 998cc, inline-four. The power figures aren’t revealed yet, it’ll possibly be the same (203hp/115Nm) as the previous gen. The exhaust system has been revised, added a catalytic converter, to meet the new Euro5/BS6 norms. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, to attain a quicker acceleration, the first, second, and third gears are made shorter and the rear sprocket is now a larger 41-tooth one.
The bikes are backed by Bosch six-axis IMU governing the traction control, can have 3 standard plus 4 customizable riding modes, cornering ABS and more. The bluetooth enable 4.3inch TFT display helps to toggle through the settings. Bikes also feature cruise control as standard as well as engine-braking control, launch control, a quickshifter and electronic Öhlins steering damper.
Kawasaki didn’t miss out on adding some more features to the ZX10RR package, the bike comes with improved engine internals, including titanium con-rods, lighter pistons, new camshafts and new intake and exhaust springs. Unlike in the ‘R’ the airbox isn’t restricted on the ‘RR’. The wheels are lighter, forged Marchesini and the brakes on offer are top-spec Brembo Stylema calipers accompanied with steel braided lines.
Two new bikes will be available in India in 2021, although the prices aren’t announced yet it’ll be significantly higher than the previous-gen
