Top Level Leadership Changes For Nissan Motor Corporation!

Nissan new leadership change

Nissan announces new chairperson for Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania (AMIEO) region

Nissan is further pumping the game up in the AMIEO region. The manufacturer has announced a major leadership change for the Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania (AMIEO) region. Guillaume Cartier, the current vice chairperson of AMIEO region and AMI president, has been appointed the new chairperson for the AMIEO region. Cartier will take up his new role with effect from April 1st, 2021 and will lead all major operations in the region. In his new role, he will report to vice-chief performance officer and chief quality officer, Christian Vandenhend.

The AMIEO region is of key significance to OEMs, comprising as many as 140 different markets spread across four continents and contributing upto 30% of the global vehicle sales. Nissan has big plans for Europe incoming including the Qashqai and Ariya and already has a strong market footprint in the AMIO region with models like the Patrol and Magnite pinned to its portfolio. Nissan is planning to bring out an entirely revised array of products and technologies to its core markets in the years to come.

At a time when the manufacturer is aiming for sustainable growth in the region, Cartier’s extensive experience of over 25 years with Nissan Motor Co. Ltd and in the global motoring scene as such, would definitely be of added advantage. Cartier had joined Nissan in 1995 as an after-sales manager and was later escalated to many senior management positions in the alliance, including AMI Chairperson, head of the Global Datsun Business Unit, Executive Officer and Senior Vice President for Mitsubishi Motors, and Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing in Europe.

Gianluca De Ficchy, the current chairperson and the one whom Cartier is to replace in his new role, would take up a senior role within the alliance, any further details of which are yet to surface. Leon Dorssers would take up Cartier’s current role of Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing, AMIEO region with effect from April 1st and would henceforth report directly to him. At present, Dorssers is based at Nissan’s Global Headquarters in Japan. With these key changes to its global leadership, Nissan seems to be aiming for a set of flawless ‘Nissan NEXT years’ ahead…
