Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 Launched In India At INR 93,960

Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 comes built on the same chassis as the bigger NS 160

Bajaj Auto has launched the 10th product in their Pulsar lineup- the NS 125 at an interesting price in the country. With its prices starting at INR 93,960, ex-showroom, the NS 125 banks to the most Value-For-Money side of the 125cc premium commuter segment. Going by the spec sheet, the Pulsar NS 125 could be a mid-point between Duke 125 and Bajaj Pulsar 125 in its actual persona and evidently targetted at the young enthusiasts.

Design

The motorcycle stands close to the bigger Pulsar NS 160 in terms of design. Almost every design cue it has is highly reminiscent of the bigger sibling. In addition to this, the NS125 gets a choice of four new (high gloss metallic) colors- Beach Blue, Fiery Orange, Burnt Red, and Pewter Grey. The perimeter frame and alloy wheels get Bronze finishes.

Much in keeping with the family persona, the NS125 gets a signature wolf-eyed headlamp with twin pilot lamps, infinity twin-strip LED tail lamps, split grab rail, and a good-looking belly pan. At 12 litres, even the fuel tank seems to have the same capacity as that of the NS160.

Specifications

The NS 125 comes built on the same chassis as the NS 160 that is currently on sale here. A perimeter frame offering high stiffness is, by the way, a first in this segment. The motorcycle uses a pair of telescopic forks at the front and nitrox-charged mono-shock (borrowed straight from the NS 160) at the rear. All these are hoped to up the road manners and stability of the NS 125 quite a bit.

The NS125 uses a 124.44cc, air-cooled, two-valve, BS6 DTS-i engine that churns out 12hp and 11Nm. While one could easily take this to have come directly from the Pulsar 125, trusted sources suspect that the NS 125’s engine could be a down-sized version of the one on the NS 160, going by its plumbing and casting structures. The transmission on offer is a 5-speed unit.

Price

The price tag of INR 93960 would enable the NS 125 to place itself effectively under the NS 160 costing 1.10 lakh and the NS200 a whopping 1.33 lakh, ex-showroom. This is evident to bring in more numbers to the manufacturer in India.

With the debut of the NS125, the NS range has got three different models to flaunt. There is apparently an NS for everyone! The Pulsar range has now grown to a total of 10 models spread across different motorcycle body styles.
