The BS6 compliant Kawasaki NInja 300 is finally set for India debut, here’s more …

Ninja 300, the entry-level Ninja was first launched in 2013 in India. Since it had been a CBU import then, the price tags didn’t do justice.Still, Kawasaki did manage to sell good numbers. In 2018 Kawasaki started assembling the bike locally and the same reflected in the prices, which then drooped and increased the overall sales volume.

The Ninja 300 was earlier discontinued when the BS6 norms came into act. Now the manufacturer is all set to launch the BS6 compliant Ninja 300 in India. The BS6 bike would hit the markets late in the first quarter of 2021. The best thing though is that more parts will now be locally made which will further bring down the prices.

Ninja 300 comes equipped with a high-revving 296cc parallel-twin engine which puts out 39hp and 27Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The bike is built on a tubular steel frame and weighs about 179kg. The Ninja 300 uses a conventional telescopic front fork and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is carried out by a 290mm single disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the back, equipped with dual-channel ABS.

Apart from the BS6 upgrade, we don’t expect any major design or mechanical changes on the 2021 model. Even so, using more locally made components on the new bike will be of added advantage, as it could bring down the price by quite a chunk.
