The XPulse 200 4V also comes with a revisited colour palette.

Hero Motocorp has given a significant update to their hot-selling XPulse 200 ADV motorcycle in India. The new XPulse comes as a more competitive package with a new, more powerful engine. Xpulse 200 4V bears an ex-showroom price of 1.28 lakh. (Rs 5000 more expensive than the previous motorcycle). Hero is also offering the rally kit for an additional Rs 46,000.

Key Change-The Engine!

The motorcycle now gets a new 199cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that has a new 4 valve SOHC setup in place of the previous bike’s 2 valve unit. What this essentially means is a good 6% hike in the overall power output and an upward revision of 5% in the peak torque (The current figures are 19.1 PS and 17.35 Nm). Plus, the oil cooling system has also been revisited for improved efficiency. The transmission with its reworked gear ratios, is claimed to offer smoother shifts too.

With these changes in place, the overall rideability and performance of the XPulse 200 should have gone fairly up, more on which we would be able to tell you only as we get to take it on a detailed road test. If you might remember, the previous Xpulse was indeed a fun-to-ride offering that used to offer a unique value proposition. The motorcycle, unsurprisingly enough, has been in huge demand pan India, ever since its market debut. The Xpulse 200 4 Valve is expected to repeat this success with its pumped-up capabilities and carefully curated pricing.

Not to forget, the XPulse 4V gets dual disc brakes and a single-channel ABS as well. The suspension continues to offer 190 mm of travel on the 37-inch front forks and 170 mm at the rear monoshock.

Other Key Features

Hero Xpulse 200 4V comes with an all-new color palette. There are three exciting shades on offer now- Trail Blue, Blitz Blue, and Red Raid. The seat has been tweaked for more comfort and the LED headlamp now gets minor changes gone into it, for better visibility and usability. Other familiar equipment from the old motorcycle like the full LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, USB charging point, and fair-sized windshield have all been carried over.

Rivals

With the market winds favouring ADVs, multiple manufacturers have recently been actively launching ADVs here. Currently, the closest rivals to the Xpulse 200 4V would be the recently launched Honda CB200X, RE Himalayan, BMW G310 GS, and KTM Adventures (250 and 390)
